In Civil Service College’s second In Conversation event of 2024, on Wednesday, 15 May from 14:00 to 15:00 BST, Director of International Partnerships Jonathan Pearse MBE will meet former diplomat Lord McDonald of Salford to discuss his experience of leadership from forty years of representing the UK at the highest level.
Simon McDonald has had a varied and distinguished career in diplomacy, having worked as Principal Private Secretary, Ambassador and most recently Permanent Under-Secretary for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 2015-2020.Topics of discussion will include leadership in the public sector, what it takes to successfully manage a large organisation and how the UK can show leadership on the international stage in the 2020s and beyond.
